Is Crispy Status free?
Yes! Crispy Status is completely free to use. We show ads to support the service. You can optionally watch a short ad to remove the watermark for 24 hours.
Is it safe? Are my videos uploaded to a server?
Your videos never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly technology. We literally cannot see or access your videos.

Why does WhatsApp make my videos blurry?
WhatsApp re-compresses every video posted to Status to save bandwidth. Higher quality videos get compressed more aggressively, resulting in blurry output.

What video formats are supported?
Crispy Status supports MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, and 3GP files. For best results, use MP4 or MOV format. Maximum file size is 500MB.
What's the maximum video length?
WhatsApp Status supports up to 30 seconds. If your video is longer, Crispy Status lets you trim it by selecting a 30-second window from your video.
How long does processing take?
Typically 15-30 seconds for a 30-second video. Shorter videos process faster. The app shows a real-time progress bar and estimated time remaining.
Can I use Crispy Status offline?
After the first visit, the processing engine is cached on your device. Subsequent uses load much faster and basic functionality works with limited connectivity.
Can I remove the watermark?
Yes! Tap the watermark toggle on the home screen. You can watch a 5-second ad to remove the watermark for 24 hours.
Does it work on iPhone/iOS?
Yes! Crispy Status works in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — on both Android and iOS. You can also install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) from your browser.
Why 640p and not 1080p?
WhatsApp Status displays videos at approximately 640p. If we output at 1080p, WhatsApp compresses it down to 640p anyway — destroying quality in the process. By outputting at 640p directly, WhatsApp barely touches the video.

My video still looks blurry after using Crispy Status. What should I do?
Make sure you: (1) Post the downloaded file directly to WhatsApp Status — don't re-edit it, (2) Use Wi-Fi when posting, (3) Don't forward the Status to others — share the original file instead.
Is there an Android app?
Yes! Crispy Status is available on the Google Play Store. It's the same tool wrapped in a native app shell for convenience. Search "Crispy Status" on Google Play.
